With no additives or binders to hold them together, they burn very well because of the natural lignens that are formed during the process. Manufactured Logs come in all sorts of shapes but they are different sizes in diameter. 2″ Round to 5″ Round with square or rounded edges. Manufactured logs average 13 inches in length. This seems to be the most popular length. Maybe you’ve heard them called Fuel logs or Eco Logs. Presto Logs or Home Fire Logs. Energy Logs or Biomass logs and Fire Logs. “Densified Firelogs” is the new EPA terminology . The EPA recently listed this as a type of fuel on their website that can burn in some stoves.
